Prisoners who died during torture were buried in a mass grave on the prison grounds. These cabinets hold the exhumed skulls from the mass grave, as the Cambodian government lacks the records or resources to identify individual remains.

In some cases the cause of death can be determined by examining the skull. Bullet holes and axe marks are evident.
