The Guggenheim Museum. It's a beautiful building, but I weep for modern art: We saw an exhibit titled "Moving Pictures" that left me thinking "I could do that" (or, "I could do that if I had been raised by wolves and had no sense of shame whatsoever"). One woman had photographed herself, naked, covered with pieces of used chewing gum that had been shaped to look like tiny little vaginas. I am not making this up.
Call me crazy, but I'm betting that none of this "art" will be on display a hundred years from now. At the risk of sounding elitist, I think art should demand at least some display of talent by the artist; it's distressing to think there are works at the Guggenheim that I could make in half an hour with materials from the local convenience store.
