A': AlphaPrime to Bravo3.
Go ahead Bravo3.
B3: I believe that over-planning could endanger the mission.I propose that we cut the power when Alpha Team is inside. This will result in a distraction and a way of stopping security.
OVER
A': Rule 5 of the Combat Bible: "No plan survives the first contact intact."
How do you propose to cut the power?
At what point?
And how will it stop security?
Bravo3, where's BravoPrime?
Over.
B3: I need this to be held in confidentiality from the rest of my team. I, being the newest member and all, would not be listened to.
A': Why not? Won't this create problems with your team leader?
B3: My only concern at this time is for the success of this mission. The question of my loyalty to the team is between Bravo Team and me. After the result of OUR last mission, let's say that I wasn't too happy with some of the decisions made.
A': Okay, Bravo3. Go ahead with your plan.
B3: We'll have Bravo2 take care of the cameras by tapping into them via the network.
A': Problem: Alpha3 says security systems have been cut off from the network. He says it looks like we just got lucky enough to catch it on a system upgrade.
B3: Crap. Then, Bravo2 and I will sneak into the power supply area. I will place a small det charge on the switch gear, and that should be sufficient to blow the power grid. In turn throwing security into a panic trying to keep the guests from tearing the place up.
A': A panic would be a bad thing. We want to be able to get in, execute the mission objectives, and get out. A widespread panic may cause security to do something unpredictable. Can you suggest something less "messy"?
B3: Well how about just cutting power to a floor as a distraction for the security or to aid you in getting the guards at the room where the target is being held? Or, if I had the proper schematics, even just to the room in particular.
A': Floor would be good. Even a TEMPORARY power outage would be useful. Are you capable of doing that?
B3: Yes, with the layout for the electrical room, I would be able to accommodate this.
A': Assuming we could get it in time. Could you do it on the spot?
B3: Yes, It's just a matter of locating the proper set of breakers and switching them off at the right moment.
A': What about bypassing locks and other security measures?
B3: Security would be the job of Bravo2. I would probably be able to get the locks and what not.
A': How much time would that take? We're expecting total mission time to be 5 minutes. Picking locks could take some time. That doesn't include the time it takes you to get to the circuit breaker and any other obstacles on the way there.
B3: As for picking locks, you're right. I believe that using det cord on any padlocks would be viable. All I need is a small piece, just enough to get the damn lock.
A': Do you have a preference for det cord? Powder charge bolt cutters exist.
B3: Hmmmmm....................both! Det on the door and the cutters on the padlock.
A': What's your demo rating? We don't want explosions going off before we even get inside the building.
B3: I've got that covered.
A': Really...? So WHEN do you propose to cut the power?
B3: Just before Alpha Team exits the stairwell into the hallway. Radio me at that moment and I will drop the power. It might be a good idea to have some night vision goggles handy.
A': Sounds good. Textbook op. Do you think we should move the op up to the previous evening to take advantage of nightfall?
B3: Dusk perhaps, With night fall the chances of security around the target increasing might be a problem. Do you know if they work on shifts?
A': Most likely, but it's almost impossible to get the shift schedule without direct surveillance, and that's prohibited by the mission parameters.
B3: Understood. Could I get all the floor plans your team has?
A': We have basics of the upper floors. Drop by our previous rendezvous place tonight at 2300.
B3: What does your team plan on bringing to the party?
A': S.O.P., 7mm caseless SMGs, NVGs (according to your plan), comm gear, etc.
B3: Silenced I would hope? Don't want to spoil the party to early.
A': Of course.
B3: See you at the rendezvous place. Bravo3 out.
A': AlphaPrime out.
------------------------------------------------------------------
B3: Bravo3 to AlphaPrime.
Come in.
A3: Bravo3, this is Alpha3.
Stand by...
A': Bravo3, this is AlphaPrime, go ahead.
B3: Here is what I have:
Bravo team will show up in the van that will be provided. Bravo2 and I will enter the hotel, split up and meet at the mechanical/laundry room. I will clear the shipping area. Bravo2 will jam security devices after we gain access into the room. The video tape for the cameras will be removed. We will proceed to cut the lock on the breaker box and wait for Alpha team. Alpha team will then make their way up the stairs and to the door leading to the fourth floor hallway. When the power goes out the festivities begin. Alpha team returns to the entry point and, if no problems, exits the building. Mission accomplished.
A': Sounds good. What is your and Bravo2's point of entry?
B3: We will enter from the front.
A': And Alpha Team?
B3: From the rear after we clear the shipping area and let ya in.
A': How many vehicles do you propose we need?
B3: BravoPrime will need to drive the extraction vehicle, and Alpha Team and Bravo4 will wait in the rear of the van until we gain access. Bravo2 will taxi in and I will get dropped off a few blocks away and walk in.
A': Good... What precautions will you take for clearing the shipping area?
B3: Well since there are metal detectors at the front I guess Martial Arts will do the job.
A': ...for untrained opponents.
B3: I'm not Bruce Lee but I can get the job done. Unless you can suggest an alternative?
A': Ceramic or plastic weapons, or any of a variety of tranqs.
How are you getting through the doors again?
B3: If the doors are locked, a small 2 inch piece of det cord will be able to crack the lock mechanism and allow us safe passage.
A': Again, too noisy. Alternative?
B3: Knock.
A': Very funny. Since access to the mechanical room is necessary, brute force may be the fastest way in. Any other ideas?
B3: Kicking in the door. Primitive, but it could very well work!
A': As long as they aren't reinforced, as many firedoors are.
B3: Don't worry, this techie can whip some things up that will get us in. It pays to have something up your sleeve.
A': Well, we don't like surprises. We can discuss them further prior to the timing exercises we're performing tomorrow. Show up one hour early. AlphaPrime out.
B3: Bravo3 out.
